The Circle of Stona
A circle of druids who follow the rhinoceros god Stona. In ancient times Stona was the vanguard of a form of urban druidism that believed that civilization and artifice had a place in nature as it was the nature of creatures with imagination to build; to Stona a human settlement is no less a part of nature than a beehive.
The Circle of Stona has historically operated on the outskirts of cradles of civilization in Haverness, assisted with agriculture and advised on maintaining harmony with the rest of the natural world.
Present Day
In 99NE, her druids suddenly lost most of their powers. Weeks later, a life-sized wooden carving of Stona was found near Dalliance. This was taken as a sign by some members of the circle that Stona had been slain.
Faith in her return waned over the coming years, and by 107NE only five members of the circle remained. With the help of the Lords of Goon's Folly they conducted a desperate ritual and brought Stona's soul back from the underworld.
In return for returning her to reality, Stona granted the Lords a boon of friendship and restored fertility to the land around Goon's Landing.
