Personality
Vexatious Varchilde is in some ways a wizard's wizard; more interested in the pursuit of knowledge than things like morality or even practicality.
He runs his school like an ant farm, observing the students dispassionately until he spots one with the potential to do something interesting. He holds the key to a chest that follows him through the etherial plane, stuffed with the most interesting and dangerous things he has found.
Special Conditions
Vexatious will pursue magical artifacts whenever he is not in play doing something specific. As of 107NE his etherial chest contains 5 Rare Magical Items and 1 Legendary item. Add one Rare per year and one Legendary per new decade.
When in play, he will attempt to acquire any item he lays eyes on of Rare quality or better, and has nearly limitless gold to offer, within reason. Add those to his etherial chest as appropriate.
He will not give up the key to this chest while living.

In Combat
Vexatious is not especially interested in combat. If he is confronted at his school he will defend himself, and use A Deadly Experiment at every opportunity. At his school, the staff will leap to his defense and arrive in 1d8 rounds if they are on the grounds.
He will attempt to Hold Person early and offload the concentration to his Notebooks of Knowledge. If defending himself from a legitimate threat he may start with Investiture of Flame instead.
