Ranger from Another Time

Originally quartermaster aboard the Sea Star in the early isolation era, now working aboard the Barnacle.

Grish has difficulty conceptualizing the world at large. If you asked him how to get to Allento he would sincerely believe that arriving at Allento is just something that happens once every few years if you sail long enough.

Having served on the Sea Star in ~700BCE, Grish has a long-standing hatred for humans. He views humans in general as cruel and pointless creatures below most of the animal kingdom, owing to his treatment by humans at a young age. Still, if a human becomes part of his hunting pack then that human is his equal.

He is illiterate but records a journal of sorts by carving figurines of people he meets, which remind him what that person is like. His cabin aboard the Sea Star had hundreds of these figurines, most of which are now destroyed, but the eight he kept with him were preserved.

Contrary to his outward appearance, he loves to listen and observe. He hopes that by joining the Barnacle crew he will hear many stories and meet many people.

Grish prefers to strike from a distance with javelins, and will generally attempt to find cover and strike before his prey knows he is there. He will take the time to ensure a downed foe is dead; quickly cutting the throat of any man or beast that falls in battle.

Left to his own devices, Grish will target enemy humans before other opponents. He will take direction from people he trusts, but ignore requests from anyone outside his hunting pack.

He currently considers the Barnacle and the Goons his pack.
