Iron Arms Academy
Founded in 212BCE by Vargas Varchilde and located about 50km south from the outskirts of West Campbell, the Iron Arms Academy is a high-walled fortress and the center of martial arts training in the Shambles.
Game Info
People from East and West Shatterheart, as well as Liarry and occasionally further come to train in the Varchilde and Carnivorous martial traditions.
At any given time, about 60 lv2 students are training under the 4 trainers and Grandmaster.
Each of the trainers specializes in one field, and students typically graduate at level 3 in one specialization.
The specializations are Power, Balance, Defense and Tactics (Barbarian, Monk, Soldier, and Fighter), and graduates refer to themselves as practitioners of Iron Power Style, Iron Balance Style, Iron Defense Style and Iron Tactics Style. Iron Style is just a title and these do not differ functionally from the corresponding classes. NPC characters typically specialize in Defense, becoming level 3 soldiers and taking careers as bodyguards, city guardsmen, etc.
The Masters of each style are level 4 in their styles and level 1 in each of the others. The Grandmaster is level 4 in each style.
On average, 110 level 3 students graduate each year. Consider proximity to the Iron Arms Academy when considering availability of trained swords for hire. Consider Carlston directly adjacent to West Campbell when making this estimation. Sellswords should be rarer, tougher, and more expensive further out.
