Lefty
Guardian of the Dread Aura
A giant lobster that was once the beloved companion of a triton king. He grew to a size most lobsters could not survive through the power of Parr Faustus' dread aura. When Parr Faustus left, Lefty was granted the aura which sustains him.
Personality and Behavior
Lefty is helpful and happy to serve anyone whose goals are kind or just. He stands atop Parr Faustus' stage at the south pole, maintaining the dread aura for an ecosystem that has come to depend on it.
While Lefty is immortal and radiates massive amounts of magic, he is not in control of it and cannot manifest or grant boons.
His ascendancy is normally fixed at “ascending” and won't change on its own. He needs not be known.
Nadir
His starmetal shell crumbles over time and he is only able to hold enough of his aura to stay alive.
Ascending
His starmetal shell radiates a dread aura for a 100km radius. This aura mutates kills most living things that enter, but those which live have begun to mutate and depend on it over generations.
Ascended
The dread aura covers a radius of 1000km. beings between 500 and 1000 suffer magical mutations but are not otherwise harmed by it.
Zenith
The entire southern hemisphere is bathed in Lefty's dread aura. Beings between -60 and 0 latitude suffer magical mutations but are not otherwise harmed by it.
The southern sky ignites with a permanent aurora and night becomes indistinguishable from day.
