Although this tooth is made of fine gold, it is tarnished in appearance. Its wearer's voice seems to carry forever without ever booming or bellowing.
While wearing the tooth, you are immune to the Surprised and Silenced conditions, and may speak normally even through magical silence.
In order to attune to the Dull Golden Tooth, you must insert it in place of a missing tooth. Doing so attunes you to it instantly and it becomes as firmly implanted as a natural tooth.
The tooth has one charge, which irs wearer may spend at will to cast dimension door.
The tooth has a 1/20 chance to regain its charge after a long rest.
Once a character has activated the item, a curse takes hold. While cursed, the user may not speak the truth. What they mean to say will be replaced by a lie, but not necessarily a direct inversion of what they meant to say. The curse causes mind reading or telepathic communication to reveal a confused mess. If this curse is removed, it will reappear if the ability is used again.
If the character means to say “I'm afraid of you,” the curse should not make them say a simple inversion; “I'm not afraid of you!” “I'll kick your ass if you come any closer” is a better lie. “I'm so full I could puke” is a better lie for a starving character than “I'm not hungry” or “I don't want any food.”
