An organization of Wizards who came together with a noble goal: to transform the monstrous and dangerous wildlife of the Ring into upstanding citizens by means of magical experimentation. The Wizards of Ennora formed the first Reformation Order, and soon spread their teachings all around the ring's interior.
Their first 'success' came in the form of Pseudo-manticores. The results of those ancient experiments laid the groundwork for the horrors they were yet to unleash upon the world.
Arguably their only true success came from their experimentations on The Mimics, having successfully given them humanoid form and erased their monstrous nature.
Their final public infliction upon the world came in the form of a misguided attempt to transform scorpions into household pets; The Ennoran Scorpion, a vicious, predatory, poisonous arachnid the size of a wolf and with the power of flight.
The Reformation order has since disappeared from the world. Some people hope that they have disbanded, while some fear that they have simply gone underground, and continue their dreadful, misguided experiments in secret.
The Reformation Order was formed in Ennora in 894, near the end of the Age of Brine.
In the modern Arcanical Age, The Reformation Order is universally despised; Not for their philosophy, but due to their many, many failures which have made the ring a more dangerous place to live.
The Reformation order's agenda is twofold. They work to identify dangerous (and, preferably, intelligent) creatures on the ring and to 'uplift' them, and they send agents out to acquire new knowledge related to the magical field of transmutation.
Members of the Reformation order comprise mostly of practiced wizards, although they sometimes accept other types of magic-users or academics into their ranks.
The Reformation order contracts a lot of work that is not immediately related to their experimentation; there is a lower caste in the reformation order of non-official members who's ranks include mercenaries, explorers and bodyguards.
