The Grand Scar

A largely uninhabited continent to the east of the Marine Chain, with rocky and difficult to navigate fjords and archipelagoes in the north, east and west. The countries of Bartok and Hargrade occupy the central and southern regions.

A Brief History of the Region

Areas

Northern Lowland

The northern archipelago has never been home to much civilisation, low lying and barren islands are perpetually wind-blasted and beset by storms.

Only the heartiest of wildlife prospers above ground here.

Central and South

Temperate jungle and mountain areas that have provided a rich environment for dwarves, humans and elves for thousands of years.

Bartok

The human country at the center of the grand scar has become a center of trade between Duarsilvana, Allento and Hargrade.

Fort Bartok

The capital of Bartok is an ancient fortress city built on the border of Bartok and the elven country, Hargrade.

Shrikeport

The central port of Bartok country. Shrikeport's north island serves as a tourist destination and a resort for the affluent, around the mountain where Old Shrikeport was built into the stone.

Mainland Shrikeport on the south shore is home to the industrial port that serves the rest of the country.

Elvenhome

The ancestral home of the Hargrade elves, deep in the Hargrave jungle.

Eastern Wasteland

Once an outpost of human civilisation, the eastern wasteland was hit hard by Skybreak and remains blasted and difficult to inhabit.

Rogue's Waste

A settlement that has been reclaimed by the scavengers who have set up to reclaim the wealth that was abandoned by those killed and displaced by Skybreak.

Stone Tower

The western island is the traditional home of the dwarves. Much of the country has receeded to central Duarsilvana and what was once a sprawling civilisation is now largely abandoned and fallen into disrepair.

Central Duarsilvana

A great network of caves built into the highest spires of Stone Tower Mountain is still home to many dwarves.

Duar Ruins

The remnants of the outlying areas of Stone Tower are abandoned, reclaimed by nature, run down and flooded. Ancient treasures may await people brave enough to explore the deep ruins.
