=====Centaurs===== Natural roamers with the upper body of a human and the lower body and legs of a horse. Most often thought of as stoic or even inscrutable by other people; their taciturn nature can lead to others regarding them as aloof or cold. =====Game Info===== ===Age=== The centaur life-cycle is similar to humans, except that they are born slightly more developed. A newborn centaur can generally stand on their own, and a centaur reaches adulthood around age 16. ===Size=== Adult centaurs are medium creatures, but only barely. Most adult centaurs are between 6'9" and 7' tall, and weigh 900-1100lbs. ===Speed=== Their base walking speed is 40 feet. ===Ability Score=== Centaurs have +1 STR and +1 WIS. ===Languages=== * Common * Kentaur ===Hybrid Nature=== For game effects, a centaur counts as both humanoid and monstrosity. ===Charge=== //Special action, once per rest.//\\ If a centaur moves at least 20 feet straight toward a target and then hits it with a melee weapon attack on the same turn, they roll the weapon’s damage dice twice and add them together. ===Hooves=== //Natural weapon attack.//\\ A centaur's hooves are natural weapons which deal 3+ (1d6 + STR) damage. ===Equine Build=== A centaur's carrying capacity, and push and pull weight are calculated as a Large creature. A medium or smaller creature attempting to escape a centaur's grapple has disadvantage, due to the centaur's size and weight. In addition, any climb that requires hands and feet is especially difficult for a centaur because of their hooves. Climbing that would cost another creature 2x movement costs a centaur 5x. Finally, a Medium or smaller creature can ride on a centaur's back. ===Survivor=== Centaurs are proficient in the Survival skill. ===Hydrophobia=== Centaurs //can// swim, but dislike water and being wet. A centaur whose entire equine body is submerged at the start of a round must make a DC 10 WIS save against fear. On a failed save they attempt to use their movement this round to exit the water if possible. =====Reputation===== Centaurs are known as free spirits and potential friends to almost anyone, but as wanderers who can't be expected to commit to much. =====Centaur Culture===== Centaurs form tight-knit communities who travel the world together and rarely settle down for long. Centaur teams can range from about 4 to 20 members, and welcome other creatures whose lifestyles fit the community. Groups of centaurs can be found around the world and often incorporate a small number of humans or elves. Centaurs build camps and temporary settlements, but prefer to invest their time into roads rather than permanent structures. =====Religion in Centaur Society===== patron gods, major religions, important spiritual traditions =====Notable Centaurs===== (add character template here) =====Major events in Centaur History===== ===XXXXBNE=== pre-isolation events ===XXXBNE=== mid-isolation events ===XNE=== Post-isolation events
