Arcanical Engineer

With the advent of arcanical technology, enchanters, artificers and runesmiths saw their perceived value skyrocket. As new discoveries were made, their tool boxes began to grow and overlap, and eventually a new profession was born; The Arcanical Engineer.

You have studied enough information from several specialties to consider yourself an Arcanical Engineer. Your mind is a blend of technical knowhow and creative freedom, toiling away in a workshop, chasing that next jolt of inspiration.

Each Engineer either creates their own personal brand, or adopts the brand of their master’s workshop. They use this brand to mark the tech they produce, before it gets sent out into the world. Engineers take pride in their brands and will go to great (often obnoxious) lengths to promote and protect their reputations.

Skill Proficiencies: Arcana, Investigation
Tool Proficiencies: Smith’s Tools, Tinker Tools
Equipment: A set of artisan’s tools (one of your choice), a set of unfinished blueprints, a work apron, a tool belt, a pair of welding goggles, a set of Common clothes, and a pouch containing 10 gp.

Workshop’s Specialty While apprenticing under a journeyperson, and working as a recognized engineer yourself, the workshop you were in had an Arcanical Specialty, which tends to inform the technology you are most interested in.

Feature: Epiphany

As long as you have access to a workshop (Forge, Anvil, Smith's Tools, & Tinker’s Tools) You can construct any Arcanical Tech for 75% of the base cost, or repair Arcanical Tech for 50% of the base cost. When constructing Arcanical Tech from scratch there is a 1% chance of inspiration striking. You can choose to invent something new, yet tangentially related to the original task. (work with your DM)

Suggested Characteristics Arcanical Engineers are passionate creators constantly trying to push the boundaries of existing technology and make new discoveries. They are creatures driven by ego, sometimes competitive and jealous, sometimes compassionate and collaborative.
